Here is a selection of Cincinnati churches and cathedrals, which are well worth visiting during your stay in the historic city of Cincinnati.
So on 75 North about an hour and a half outside of Cincinnati, there is this huge sculpture of Jesus in front of this chuch...you can see it clear off the interstate...though
it makes a statement to passers-by...the three of us decided the statement was "look at our big Jesus and how much money our church has" in stead of "how great is our God?!" and that the money it took to build this huge thing could have gone to a better cause

Cincinnati's Christ Church Cathedral stands in the heart of the downtown district and was founded in 1817, although the church was moved to its current located in 1835. Home to a separate chapel, beautiful stained-glass windows, Gothic-style architecture and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, Christ Church Cathedral holds regular daily parish services.

St. Peter in Chains Cathedral, in Cincinnati, was built in the 1840s and is an enormous building, with many impressive features and stone carvings. Once the tallest structure in the whole of Cincinnati, this important Roman Catholic cathedral features classical Greek-style architecture, which has been extensively restored and enlarged in recent years. The building itself is regarded as one of the finest examples of its kind in the whole of the USA and regular masses are held on a daily basis at Cincinnati's St. Peter in Chains Cathedral.

The St. Mary's Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption is a truly breathtaking cathedral, resembling the famous Notre Dame cathedral in Paris, on a smaller scale. Best known for its enormous stained-glass window, which is the largest of its kind in the whole world, other highlights at the St. Mary's Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption include over 80 other stained-glass windows, numerous stone gargoyles, large oil paintings and an impressive interior. St. Mary's Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption was built in the late 19th century and was finally completed many years later, in 1910.

Old St. Mary's Church in Cincinnati is known for its grand pilasters and traditional Greek-Revival architecture. Completed in the early 1840s, Old St. Mary's Church became one of the city's largest buildings. Attractions at the church include numerous stylish Baroque elements, ornate round windows, an elegant clock tower, and a richly decorated interior, with several enormous oil paintings.
